Tan HongweiTan Hongwei


Prof. Tan Hongwei is the lead scientist of Guangxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences, China. He is an expert awarded with the special allowance of the State Council, the host of national key research and development projects, a scientific and technological personnel with outstanding contribution in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and a high-level talent recognized by the Party Committee and the Autonomous Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

Prof. Tan Hongwei was awarded 1 second prize of national scientific and technological progress, 1 third prize of national scientific and technological progress, 10 first and second prizes of provincial (ministerial) level scientific and technological progress awards, 13 third prizes of provincial (ministerial) level scientific and technological progress awards. In 2018, in the industrialized development of high efficiency fertilizers, he was awarded the second prize of China's invention and entrepreneurship achievements. In 2017 and 2018, was awarded the second prize of China's innovation achievements of industry-university-research cooperation.

Major scientific achievements:

  1. For the first time, the causes of acidification of red soil in major agricultural production areas in tropical subtropics have been discovered, and key technological measures to curb soil acidification have been put forward, as well as academic ideas that can be used to improve the productivity of red soil.
  2. He established a database of soil distribution space and nutrient status in major agricultural production areas in tropical subtropics, proposed a soil fertility grading index system, and pointed out for the first time that the fertilizer efficiency technology to improve the utilization rate of nutrients by crops has been granted a national authorized invention patent.
  3. He found that the main tropical subtropical for the absorption of mineral nutrients, crop quality, green, high yield and high efficiency of the growth and development process related to mineral nutrients carried out a systematic and in-depth discussion for crop quality and high yield regulation to provide the key technology and China's efficient use of red soil and regulation laid the theoretical foundation.
  4. Discovery of agricultural organic waste rapid engineering fermentation and production of high content of humic acid organic fertilizer law, the establishment of high-efficiency organic fertilizer production technology system, laying a theoretical foundation for the fertilization of red soil.
  5. The systematic research found that the maximum yield, economic yield and high quality and high efficiency of the main crops in tropical subtropics, and establish its production index system, to provide theoretical support for intelligent agriculture.

In the past few years, Prof. Tan Hongwei has presided over more than 40 research projects, including the key projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China, National Science and Technology Support Program, National Key R&D Projects, Public Welfare Industry (Agricultural) Scientific Research Special Project, Guangxi Major Projects, Guangxi Innovation Driving Projects, and National Cooperative Projects, etc. He has published more than 160 academic papers in mainstream professional journals at home and abroad, of which 9 have been indexed by SCI and cited in Web of Science database.
