Tang Yuanwen
Dr. Yuanwen Tang, born in December 1964, holds a Ph.D. and serves as a standing committee member of the Qingzhou Municipal Political Consultative Conference and Vice Chairman of the Federation of Industry and Commerce. She is a technical expert for the National Power Transmission and Distribution Technology Network. Dr. Tang is the Chairperson of Shandong Zhouyu Health Technology Co., Ltd., a member of the Building Fire Protection Committee of the China Fire Protection Association, and a specially appointed member of the expert committee for drafting standards at the China International Science and Technology Promotion Association.
Dr. Tang is the primary drafter of the "People's Republic of China Electric Power Industry Standard" (AC System Disc-Type Suspended Composite Porcelain or Glass Insulator String Components) and the main drafter of the "People's Republic of China Electric Power Industry Standard" (HVDC Line Disc-Type Suspended Composite Porcelain or Glass Insulator String Components). She has been honored with the United Nations "Global Outstanding Contribution to Health" Gilles Prize, the 14th World Outstanding Chinese Award by the World Chinese Business Investment Foundation, the 2023 Science and Technology Innovation Figure by the Chinese Academy of Management Science, and the "People's Health Guardian" medal for the 70th anniversary of the Patriotic Health Campaign, along with the title of "Health Promotion Ambassador." She was also included in the 2023 "Annals of Chinese Scientists."
Dr. Tang has received several awards, including the Shandong Province Science and Technology Progress Award, the Second Prize for Science and Technology Progress among SMEs in Shandong, the Third Prize for Science and Technology Progress in Shandong, the First Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress from the State Grid Corporation of China, and the Third Prize for Invention and Entrepreneurship in Shandong. She has filed/granted over 150 national patents.
Dr. Tang independently developed the "Self-Cleaning Composite Insulator" for ceramic (glass), which effectively addressed the issues of maintenance-free operation and safety, revolutionizing the 107-year history of traditional insulators. Currently, over 4.19 million units are safely operating across more than 2,180 transmission and transformation lines nationwide. Her developed "AC and DC Epoxy Solid Core Composite Post Insulators," which can withstand earthquakes above 9 on the Richter scale and have the highest bending strength in the world, have been recognized as "pioneering products both domestically and internationally, with all parameters reaching international leading levels." These are currently used in 26 national key ultra-high voltage transmission and transformation projects and qualify as suppliers for the State Grid Corporation of China.
Her innovative material, "Nano-magnesium hydroxide aqueous solution," has filled a gap in environmentally friendly flame retardant liquids and was designated as the sole security product for the Beijing Winter Olympics. The magnesium hydroxide disinfectant and original flavor mouthwash developed by Zhouyu Health, founded by Dr. Tang, were each selected by Xinhua News Agency as "Remarkable National Products." Zhouyu's new national products were awarded the "Belt and Road Tenth Anniversary • National Gift Brand" by the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and recognized as a "National Safe Food Promotion Project Product for Chronic Disease Prevention" by the China Safe Food Promotion Office.
