Prof. Xiu-Ju Zhao, B E in Bioengineering, Shaanxi University of Science and Technology (Jul. 2003), M Sc in Biophysics, Wuhan University (Jun. 2007), PhD Sc in Bioanalytical Chemistry, Wuhan Institute of Physics and Mathematics, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (Jan. 2012); PI and professor in Biology, Wuhan Polytechnic University, P. R. China.

His research interests are development, health and nutrition using -omics and bigdata. He coined biodatatics; subsequently, proposed fusion of biology, data, knowledge and intelligence technologies (BDKITs), and summarized data activity mechanism DCSAE (Diverse, Coherent, Shared, Auditable, and Ecological). Biodatatics was coined in June 2020 that studies spatiotemporal diversity datasets (integration of variables, individuals and time course) of organisms including microorganisms, plants, animals and human being, with methods of null hypothesis & inference and semi-schema & discovery, and contents and goals of security, development, health and nutrition. Biodatatics may include spatiotemporal biodiversity, -omics+epidemiology, prediction factors, full data, assembly biology, bioeconomics, and fundamental theory. The pipeline of processing diverse datasets (i.e. the mechanism DCSAE) is: neuromorphic → adjacency hash, similarity storage → knowledge-curated, scenario-targeted →native, embedding, concurrent and chain-style → universal and ecological (e.g. graph). DCSAE acts as the fundamental theory of biodatatics (Briefings in Bioinformatics 2022, 1 out of 57, Review Linking research of biomedical datasets). He and his collaborators design adjacency Hash and graph query language, employ similarity storage, and thus invent neuromorphic real-time deep graph database, enabling linear scalability, and high visualization via high-density concurrent computing power and algorithm, and dynamic trimming. He conceived metabonomics for the intelligence era in November 2011: Quantitative exploration of spatiotemporal metabolic responses of biomaterials to perturbations.

He has constructed the core knowledge database of fundamental disciplines, mainly mathematics, physics, chemistry, geoscience, biology, computer science, with 15 million above records. He is the chief contributor (80% above share) of the leading 1% globally in Essential Science Index clinical medicine at the University. He has finished the textbook Biostatistics, including his own research achievements, consistent with the latest guidance by the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council. He has published 64 papers, with 15k above citations and 6 top 1% papers (including 3 hot papers) in clinical medicine. He is peer reviews of Journal of Cell Science, International Journal of Obesity, Analytical Methods, Journal of Diabetes, European Journal of Epidemiology, etc.
