Yang Xiangdong
Yang Xiangdong, male, born in April 1961, is a professor and the director of Chengdu Anorectal Specialty Hospital. He is the fourth-generation descendant of the Xin Yu·Ji Chuan medical lineage. Yang serves as a doctoral supervisor at Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Southwest Medical University. He is also a representative of the People's Congress in Jinjiang District and a member of the Chengdu Political Consultative Conference. In September 2001, Professor Yang was recruited by Jinjiang District of Chengdu to serve as the director of Chengdu Anorectal Specialty Hospital. Under his leadership, the hospital was elevated from a district-level institution to a national third-grade A-level hospital, earning national recognitions such as "National Clinical Key Specialty" from the Ministry of Finance and the National Health and Family Planning Commission, as well as "National Key Discipline" and "National Key Specialty" from the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Yang himself has received numerous accolades including Outstanding Communist Party Member of Chengdu, Top Ten Famous Traditional Chinese Medicine Doctors of Sichuan, Famous Doctor of Tianfu in Sichuan, National Old Traditional Chinese Medicine Expert Academic Experience Inheritance Work Instructor, expert in Yang Xiangdong National Famous Old Traditional Chinese Medicine Expert Inheritance Workshop, Outstanding Expert with Significant Contributions in Sichuan, Leading Talent in Health and Family Planning in Sichuan, Advanced Individual in Traditional Chinese Medicine Work in Sichuan, and "Health Guardian of the New Era" in Sichuan's first awards. He holds several prestigious positions such as President of the Chinese Constipation Medicine Society, Executive President of the Anorectal Branch of the Chinese Ethnic Medicine Society, Vice President of the Anorectal Society of the Higher Education Society of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Standing Committee Member of the Anorectal Doctors Branch of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association, Leader of the Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Group of the Anorectal Doctors Branch Committee of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association, and Deputy Secretary-General of the Sichuan Traditional Chinese Medicine Society.
Professor Yang has participated in the publication of 19 medical monographs (as chief editor for 5, deputy chief editor for 5, and editorial board member for 9), authored over 100 professional papers, and led more than 20 research projects at various levels. As project leader, he has received 15 awards for scientific and technological progress, including third prize in Sichuan Province Science and Technology Progress, second and third prizes in Chengdu Science and Technology Progress, second and third prizes in the Chinese Traditional Medicine Society Science and Technology Progress Awards, second prizes in the Chinese Ethnic Medicine Society Science and Technology, second prize for academic works, second prize in the Chinese Integrated Traditional and Western Medicine Society Science and Technology Projects; first and second prizes in the Sichuan Traditional Chinese Medicine Society Science and Technology Progress, second and third prizes in the Sichuan Medical Association Science and Technology Progress, and third prize in the Chengdu Medical Association Science and Technology Progress. He holds 9 national patents/utility models.
